The\u00a0Stikland\u00a0CID plays a vital role in the efforts by all Capetonians to save water.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Quite often our patrols vehicles detect the leaking water meters and burst pipes in the small hours of the morning and through the\u00a0Stikland\u00a0CID Control Room alert the City of Cape Town as soon as possible.\u202f This results in\u00a0a quick reaction from maintenance crews but more importantly, vast amounts of wasted water\u00a0are\u00a0prevented\u00a0from leaking away into the storm water system because the City can shut off water supply and make repairs.\u202f\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Often the only evidence of this vital work is the sandy patch in the road from the work done while the rest of us were fast asleep.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
